Little Red Riding Hood

Every girl, especially every 18th Century girl, needs a red cloak. I finally finished mine this weekend. The fabric is wool broadcloth from Wm. Booth Draper and ribbon is silk 25mm ribbon from M&J Trim.

And in other news, I’ve been thinking of a party dress for Christmas. I was dead set on a wool version of this  Object d’Art Dress from Decades of Style, but I was perusing Butterick Patterns for some reason and I found this:

I loved it so much I ordered it. Then today I was in Hancock’s for some notions and found this strawberry colored flocked poly taffeta (the flocking is blacker in person). Even though it’s polly (bleh) I grabbed it because it was so perfect.
Won’t that make a pretty party dress?!
